Introduction

This is a sample version of our GIS mapping of Census travel to work, viewed as a webpage. Please see the accompanying pdf file for a description of its use in planning work. This is a stripped down version of the mapping, which is usually supplied to clients as a locked ARCGIS Reader project.

Requirements

The GIS Information Point is best viewed while using a high-speed internet connection.  Although a Dial-Up connection can still be used, the loading of data will be much slower resulting in longer waiting periods.

The GIS Information Point works with browsers and operating systems that fully support Adobe SVG viewer 3.0.

These include:

• Internet Explorer 5.0 and greater

• Netscape 6 and 7. (Note: Adobe does not officially support these platforms with Adobe SVG 3.0).

• The Opera browser under Windows works, however the plug in requires manual installation and Java must be turned off.

• Other browsers may work but have not been tested. Users should see their vendor support for instructions on enabling SVG to work with their browser.
