Woodland and forestry are now seen as an integral part of rural development policy and a land use that has the potential to deliver a wide array of benefits, from nature conservation to human health. LUC was closely involved in the development of both the England and Wales national Forestry Strategies and has been keen to explore and promote the multiple benefits that woodland can offer.
