Local products and environmental standards in food production

Building on the report of the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food (2002), LUC sees the importance of helping those who farm in more sustainable ways, gain economic advantage through appropriate branding and accreditation and through local sales. As a consequence, LUC has been involved in two of the largest national studies looking at the development of both Baseline and Enhanced Environmental Standards in Food Production.
