Landscape Architect and Principal of LUC with over 20 years experience in the UK and overseas. Much of his experience has been gained with large scale and long term development projects often requiring working alongside other disciplines.
His project work includes Landscape and Urban Design, Land Reclamation, Access Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment. Current and recent landscape design work includes masterplanning of the 100acres Edinburgh Technopole Research and Development Campus, masterplanning at Pacific Quay, Glasgow, masterplanning of a mixed use and golf resort in western Scotland and external works design associated with the proposed underground high speed rail station in Florence, Italy. He continues to be involved with the on-going (landscape) development of the 800 acre Eurocentral site since preparing the landscape master plan in 1989.
Marc has extensive experience with Environmental Impact Assessment. He has been responsible for the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment of more than 20 proposed windfarm developments ranging from a single turbine (850Kw) scheme on Scottish island to a 173 turbine (540Mw) scheme in southern Scotland. He has also advised on landscape and visual issues relating to wind energy developments in New Zealand and the Netherlands. He has been responsible for the Environmental Statement for the development of Eurocentral and recently for the EIA of two proposed prison developments. He was project manager for the EIA of the Cairngorm Funicular.
Marc contributed to the Natural Traffic Calming Research and Review of Traffic Calming for the Scottish Executive and contributed to the research that informed the new access legislation under the Land Reform Scotland act.
Marc occasionally lectures at the landscape course at The College of Art of Heriot Watt University and was a member of Landscape Institute course accreditation assessment panel from 1998 to 2001.
In 2006, Marc was appointed 'enabler' by Architecture + Design Scotland on their enabling panel.
