Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) involves the compilation, evaluation and presentation of all the potentially significant environmental impacts of a proposed development, to assist the consenting authority in determining the application.

Most recently, LUC has undertaken EIAs for a number of windfarm developments throughout Scotland , and two prison developments in central Scotland . For each of these projects, LUC was responsible for coordinating the EIA, drafting the ES (and Planning Statement) and providing the specialist input for ecology, landscape and visual impacts, recreation and amenity and socioeconomic chapters.
