Database Design and Analysis

LUC’s Digital Design team have considerable experience of designing, developing and analysing Microsoft Access databases.  The importance of data and information throughout our work is paramount, and when dealing with large quantities of data the use of databases can facilitate efficient and quick retrieval of accurate information.

Our approach

LUC work with Microsoft Access, often fully integrated with GIS, to create simple outputs from complex database structures.  By creating database ‘front-ends’ that are simple to use we aim to enable non-technical users to maintain and access information as and when needed.

Our experience

LUC is experienced in developing and using databases for a range of purposes, including:

  • site based analysis, for example assessing information on open spaces or potential waste sites;
  • the analysis of consultation responses - questionnaire evaluation and summarising;
  • storage of information for landscape planning, for example descriptions and data summaries within landscape character areas;.
  • Census data analysis.
