Historic Landscapes

Historic landscapes, from designed Parks and Gardens to Seaside Promenades and Commons, are an important part of our cultural heritage and can provide a catalyst for local regeneration and community involvement.

For the last 20 years LUC has been at the forefront in the conservation, repair and restoration of historic landscapes for English Heritage, the National Trust, the Royal Parks and other public and private clients. The core team of landscape architects is able to call on the inhouse expertise of ecologists, planners, GIS specialists and graphic designers to offer a sensitive and comprehensive service.

Our experience

We have produced plans for the conservation and restoration of sites as varied as Heligan Gardens, Stowe Landscape Gardens and Audley End.  We have received many awards including from the Georgian Group for the restoration of Russell Square, London and Heaton Park, Manchester.

We undertake:

• Survey, research and assessment of historic landscapes nationally and locally
• Conservation, repair and restoration of historic designed landscapes
• Conservation management plans and other advice on the management and maintenance of heritage landscapes
• Preparation for and implementation of restoration schemes under the Heritage Lottery Fund
• New design within historic landscapes
• Procurement and inspection
