Landscape management is concerned with the development of management policies and actions which conserve, enhance and maintain landscapes for current and future generations. The discipline of landscape management ensures that the design intention of a scheme is realised in the long-term, be it a newly designed or an historic landscape, and that it fulfils its intended function as a component in the landscape, as an amenity resource for people and as a habitat for wildlife.
The specialist team of landscape managers seeks to deliver sustainable, holistic and creative approaches to managing a wide variety of landscapes in both urban and rural settings. At LUC we gain a thorough understanding of the landscape resource and the benefits it delivers before developing plans in partnership with our clients and the community where appropriate. As a discipline within LUC we work closely with in-house landscape designers, environmental planners, ecologists and CAD/GIS specialists. We also work with a diverse range of related professions and we have close links with architects, archaeologists, hydrologists, arboricultural consultants, access planners, business advisors and surveyors.
As Chartered Landscape Architects (Management Division) we have a proven track record in the production of integrated plans and strategies for a variety of scales of landscapes from regional/borough wide strategies to individual parks and gardens. We have prepared management plans and strategies for a diverse range of clients including The Royal Parks, The National Trust, Local Authorities, and a variety and private landowners.
Examples of work we have undertaken for clients include:
- Conservation management plans and other advice on the management of heritage landscapes;
