Windfarm Developments

In recent years LUC has been very involved with several windfarm projects. These have involved both Environmental Impact Assessments for specific windfarm proposals by developers, and guidance studies for statutory consultees.

Windfarm Environmental Impact Assessments

LUC has a long and successful track record in undertaking environmental impact assessments and has recently been involved in preparing over 20 Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements for wind farm developments in the UK. Our clients in this field of work have included Scottish Power, Force 9 Energy, Airtricity, Npower Renewables, Renewable Energy Systems (RES), Coronation Power, Iberinco and several other private landowners and Community Trusts.

Guidance Studies

Guidance has focused upon the capacity of our landscape to take windfarm developments, and the sensitivity of areas of high landscape value to exploitation. The ground breaking methodology used for the Argyll and Bute study was developed in close collaboration with SNH and Argyll and Bute Council.
