Good Practice Guidance

LUC has also been involved in research and good practice guidance for European and National Government, public and voluntary bodies and private industry.

This includes:

• A study to obtain more reliable estimates of the likely range of both financial and time costs and benefits associated with the implementation of the EC Directive on Environmental Assessment for the European Commission DGXI.
• Provision of assistance to the Department of the Environment and the Scottish Office in the production of guidelines to developers on how to undertake EIAs and to prepare environmental statements. The research drew extensively on experience of EIA in Europe and North America.
• Assistance to National Grid with developing and implementing environmental guidelines for post development monitoring and auditing.
