On behalf of ODPM (now DCLG) LUC led the research and helped to prepare guidance for use by all planning bodies on the Sustainability Appraisal of Regional Spatial Strategies and Local Development Documents.
LUC carried out the SEA of the Strategic Defence Review on behalf of the Ministry of Defence which was described by the MOD's Green Minister as "an important and pioneering piece of work which embodies the Government's commitment to putting the environment at the heart of decision-making". We are also carrying out the SEA of the revised Scottish Forestry Strategy (for the Forestry Commission Scotland).
