Planning Research and Preparation of Guidance Documents

LUC has undertaken a wide range of research into the planning system and has produced a number of guidance documents for clients, including:

• Several studies for the ODPM (now DCLG), including research into access and charging in the planning system, and the role of Local Development Orders
• Planning for sustainable water management for the Environment Agency
• The use of landscape character assessment in planning for the Countryside Agency
• Guidance on golf in historic parks and landscapes for English Heritage
• Guidance on planning for climate change and water resources for the Environment Agency
• Guidance on controlling the environmental effects of Recycled and Secondary Aggregates Production
• Guidance on waste planning, including a guide to waste planning in London for the Association of London Government and site identification studies for waste management infrastructure at the regional and local levels.
