Planning and Strategic Environmental Assessment

Our Approach

Land Use Consultants has an experienced planning team offering a range of services from planning policy research and preparation of guidance documents, to planning advice for public and commercial sector clients and Environmental Impact Assessment.  Many of our staff regularly speak at conferences and teach in University Planning Schools.

LUC also has a long involvement in Sustainability Appraisal (SA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), including preparation of guidance on ‘Sustainability Appraisal of Regional Spatial Strategies and Local Development Frameworks’ for ODPM (now DCLG).  We have a more recent role in Appropriate Assessment (AA) and work with a consortium of sustainability consultants to continuously develop and improve approaches to SA, SEA and AA.
