Profile
Jennette Emery-Wallis, Principal, is a chartered landscape architect with over 14 years experience. She has produced award-winning work on numerous complex design projects, often located within sensitive sites, demanding well thought-out and creative solutions.
Passionate about play design, Jennette was the lead designer for the Diana, Princess of Wales memorial playground within Kensington Gardens for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. The playground set a new blueprint for natural play design, and was awarded a Government Charter Mark for Excellence. Jennette recently managed the concept design of the new children's zoo at London Zoo, which encourages children to empathise with animals through fun and playful encounters.
On restoration and conservation of historic landscapes Jennette has successfully secured over £60 million in funding for public parks from the Heritage Lottery Fund. This included the restoration and enhancement of Humphry Repton’s 1802 scheme for Russell Square, Bloomsbury that received a Civic Trust award, and won the Georgian Society conservation award. She has also delivered strategic master plans for World Heritage Sites such as the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. On more contemporary landscapes, Jennette is responsible for the conservation of Sir Frederick Gibberd’s 1960s modernist garden outside Harlow. The site is acknowledged as a microcosm of his master plan for Harlow new town.
In her spare time Jennette acts as an external examiner for degree and diploma landscape architecture courses.
