Profile
Jon Grantham, Principal, is a chartered town planner with over 20 years experience. An expert in all aspects of spatial planning, Jon has been involved in formulating policy and appraisal, detailed negotiations for planning permissions and agreements, as well as giving evidence as an expert witness.
A specialist in water, minerals, energy and the education sector, Jon has been responsible for securing planning permission for many large-scale developments in sensitive environments. Recent examples include the Favell Building at Mill Hill School and the new performing arts centre at the Royal Russell School. He also manages two of the regional framework planning contracts on behalf of Natural England. Other clients include the European Commission, the UK government and devolved administrations, statutory agencies, regional assemblies, local authorities and voluntary groups, along with numerous private developers and investors.
Jon has extensive experience of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and has successfully managed many complex EIA developments, including a golf course at Rabat, Malta, a new reservoir development in southern England, wind energy projects and school expansion projects.
In his spare time, Jon lectures on environmental assessment and management at London South Bank University, and he chairs the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Partnership Board at Anglia Ruskin University. He was formerly an external examiner on the RTPI’s distance learning post graduate planning course.
