European Landscape Convention guidelines
Land Use Consultants has recently worked with Natural England to produce guidelines to implement the ELC in England, now published on the Landscape Character Network. June 2009.
The guidelines aim to make the Convention meaningful, accessible and relevant to a wide range of organisations that have a direct or indirect impact on landscape.
LUC’s study translated the Convention into practical actions that organisations can take to assist in the protection, planning and management of landscape. This in turn can bring considerable benefits to organisations in meeting their own agenda against current, social and economic drivers.
The guidance is produced as three volumes:
Part 1: What does the ELC mean for your organisation?
Part 2: Integrating the intent of the ELC into plans, policies and strategies
Part 3: Preparing an ELC Action Plan
