Experts on the impact of climate change

OUR WORK ON CLIMATE CHANGE COMBINES TWO STRANDS – PLANNING TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS, AND HELPING SOCIETY ADAPT TO THE CHANGING CLIMATE.

LUC’s forward-thinking approach means we are recognised as leaders in responding to the challenges of climate change. Much of our work is designed to improve understanding of the impacts of climate change on people and our environment. A significant strand of our work focuses on measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, not least through the sustainable development of renewable energy. We are also specialists in adaptation – equipping society and our environment to deal with the climate changes that will continue over the coming decades.

Climate change mitigation and adaptation touches upon all of our work – whether it is sustainable landscape design, managing landscape change at the national, regional and local level, schemes to encourage walking and cycling or strategies for the future of agriculture or forestry.

It is also an important aspect of the way we run LUC as we aim to ensure we minimise our own impacts on the climate.
