Habitat Management Plans and Habitat Creation

Habitat Management Plans and Habitat Creation

Habitats throughout the UK are under considerable pressure from different forms of land use, and increasingly, if we are to conserve them, positive ecological intervention is needed.

Habitat management plans are often required as part of a planning application or planning conditions, and our ecologists have extensive experience in the production and execution of these plans. In addition, habitat enhancement and creation may be required to deliver mitigation proposals in relation to development, or during the restoration of open space to meet local biodiversity targets.

Our ecologists and landscape teams work closely together, for example in the development of conservation and management plans for open spaces and historic landscapes, or to ensure that open space habitat enhancement and creation target local priorities for biodiversity such as Biodiversity Action Plans. Such projects are often informed by habitat and vegetation surveys and protected species surveys.
