Acton Gardens
About the project
Acton Gardens LLP, which is a joint venture between Countryside Properties and L&Q, is working with the London Borough of Ealing to regenerate South Acton Estate in West London.
The masterplan to redevelop this prominent 21ha site includes replacing 1,600 dilapidated homes with 3,300 new dwellings, shops and over 4.5 hectares of public open space. Over 1,500 homes have or are being delivered to date.
Acton Gardens LLP undertook a review of the original masterplan, with the intention to increase densities across the remaining phases. This revised masterplan was granted outline planning permission, making provision for up to 1,950 further mixed tenure family apartments and homes. The permission included detailed proposals for the immediate delivery of 203 new homes as part of the £600m Acton Gardens regeneration programme.
The masterplan’s extensive open space network comprises three public parks, communal gardens, green streets and allotments. LUC developed the open space and landscape strategy, prepared external proposals for the detailed phase and carried out the site-wide ecological assessment.
This is in addition to work LUC has undertaken on various phases of the development, including planning and construction packages supporting over 1,200 homes, delivering a new park, courtyard gardens and streetscape improvements.
