Mid Sussex District Council expects significant population growth over the period of their Local Plan. The Council’s corporate priority of fostering strong, resilient communities led to working with LUC on understanding the need for community buildings.

LUC Planners developed a Community Buildings Strategy to guide investment in existing community buildings, as well as in the provision of new community buildings. The strategy assesses existing community buildings quantitatively and qualitatively and identifies where new or improved community buildings are needed to support population growth.

The strategy will guide the Council’s own investment decisions and provides the evidence base for Local Plan policy and development management.
