Ann Conquest to speak at Royal Agricultural University lecture series
LUC’s Ann Conquest will join Professor Duncan Westbury, Dean of Land and Property Management at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU), to deliver a lecture on enhancing biodiversity in farming.
The event, titled Making farming buzz again, takes place at the RAU in Cirencester on Wednesday 22 October 2025 from 6–8pm.
It forms part of the University’s 180th anniversary lecture series.

Ann, an Associate Director of Rural Land Management at LUC, has more than 20 years’ experience in designing and implementing agri-environment schemes. She has worked with farmers, local authorities, landowners and NGOs across the UK to develop practical solutions that support people, nature and the rural economy.
Speaking ahead of the lecture, Ann said:
“I am excited to join Duncan in delivering this lecture. I will be sharing insights from our research and will discuss the challenges and opportunities that farmers face in running a sustainable and nature-friendly business.”
Professor Westbury will share insights from his research into agroecosystems, habitat creation, and the links between food production and ecosystem services. Together, Ann and Duncan will explore how farming practices can adapt to support wildlife and sustain agricultural landscapes.
The lecture will take place in the Boutflour Hall at the RAU. Tickets are free and can be booked on EventBrite.
