LUC invests in new bat detection equipment
LUC is has recently invested in new specialist equipment to assist with night-time bat surveys. This will help us provide even more cost-effective and robust ecological support to our clients.
Alongside traditional survey methods, we can now use a video camera and infrared lamp to film footage of bats at roosts. This can help reduce project costs by supplementing our specialist bat surveyors.
Our latest footage found a brown long-eared bat maternity roost within a cavity wall. Early detection of this enabled our client to build mitigation proposals into the project from the outset, saving them time and money.

As landscape architects for the scheme, it’s great to see this recognition for a project that has created a welcoming and much-loved space in the heart of Camden.
