LUC supports EMEC’s consent application for Billia Croo wave test site
LUC inputted to the European Marine Energy Centre’s (EMEC) application for Section 36 consent for their wave test site off the west coast of Orkney, Scotland.
EMEC is applying for site-wide Section 36 consent at its grid-connected Billia Croo wave test site, for a maximum installed generating capacity of 20 MW across the site. The Section 36 consent application is currently out for consultation.
LUC completed a Seascape, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment to support the application. Our team undertook fieldwork last autumn, visiting key viewpoints on Orkney and Hoy. We assessed the environmental impacts that may occur during the installation, operation, maintenance and decommissioning phases of testing at the site.
We are also pleased to feature as a supplier on the Catapult online ‘Guide to an offshore wind guide’. LUC provides studies assessing impacts on both people and the environment, for both offshore and onshore components of renewable energy developments.
