Burr’s Garage development proposal granted consent
We are delighted to hear that the proposed new development at Burr’s Garage, Tongue has been granted consent. The proposals include new accommodation, restaurant, micro brewery, shop and petrol station which will help to serve the North Coast 500.
As part of our ongoing involvement with Wildland Ltd, we prepared the Landscape and Visual Appraisal. This included consideration of effects on the Kyle of Tongue National Scenic Area. After consultation with the Scottish Ministers the scheme was granted consent without the need for an Environmental Impact Assessment.
The proposal forms part of Wildland Ltd’s wider 200 year vision of landscape-scale conservation of the Scottish Highlands. The aim of this vision is to restore the land to is former ecological richness and provide long-term sustainable employment in the area.
LUC is currently working on a number of Wildland sites. We are offering landscape planning, design and ecology services during the sensitive restoration of traditional Highland buildings and the construction of new purpose built guest accommodation and facilities.
