Camden Active Spaces shortlisted for second Award
We are delighted that Camden Active Spaces project has been shortlisted for a Camden Business Award in the category ‘Best Public Space’.
The Camden Active Spaces project sees outdoor spaces in seven of Camden’s primary and secondary schools transformed by uniquely designed structures to inspire our children and young people to get moving more.
LUC consulted with students, parents and residents before designing new spaces that respond to the individual needs of each school. These unique places were completed in Autumn 2014.
Since the spaces opened, observational studies show both girls and boys outside and using the equipment, and playground accident levels have dropped because the playground design now separates different types of activity.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in June.
