
Restoration works at Cassiobury start on site
Works on-site have recently begun at Cassiobury Park, a 13-month long, multi million pound Heritage Lottery Fund restoration. The project aims to restore the this historic park in Watford, including upgrades to with the various 20th-century park landscape additions.
LUC is the lead consultant and landscape architect on the scheme, working with a multi-disciplinary team. Planned works include upgrading existing paddling pools, a redesigned drinking fountain and improved landscapes for the Metroland tea house. A multi-functional new hub building with café is also planned.
The programme will also improve the park entrance and paths, enhance vistas through tree management and restore an existing watermill site.
This restoration will enable visitors to enjoy the historical elements of the park and it’s rich history as part of the Capel (Earl of Essex’s) Estate; as well as appreciate the modernised play and water features.
