Clydeside Distillery shortlisted for RIAS award
The shortlist for the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) awards has been announced, featuring a project involving LUC landscape design work.
The Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow, which was designed by Hypostyle Architects for Morrison Glasgow Distillers Ltd, is being recognised by RIAS for its quality in architecture.
LUC designed the public realm for the multi-million pound Clydeside Distillery development and major new visitor attraction, which includes a micro-distillery, visitor centre, cafe and gift shop.
Our input resulted in a positive riverside plaza and threshold space for the building whilst accommodating the practicalities of car parking requirements. The design is influenced by abstract references taken from the materiality and texture of whisky barrels.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Glasgow on 20 June.
