LUC-designed Cockham Community Parkland granted planning consent
Medway Council planning committee has granted planning consent for Cockham Community Parkland. LUC worked with BPTW and Medway Council to design this new public open space for local people on the Hoo Peninsula.
The parkland will repurpose 51ha of farmland to create a place for community recreation, combined with extensive habitat creation including the enhancement of Cockham Wood SSSI.
The site occupies an elevated position and users will be able to enjoy the stunning views offered across the River Medway. The parkland is being brought forward as part of a Strategic Environmental Management Scheme, which is funded by the government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund.
We look forward to continuing working with the council to deliver the parkland over the coming years.
