LUC completes Surrey countryside inclusive environments project
LUC has completed a project to promote access for all and create inclusive environments within Surrey’s countryside.
Surrey County Council appointed LUC as the environmental consultant in a team to help in their Countryside Enhancement Programme.
The Council aims to improve residents’ connectivity with Surrey’s countryside and investigate how to reach low user groups. The project proposes events and activities to widen the appeal of selected sites in a way that respects sensitive environmental value.
Our Landscape Managers and Ecologists analysed the countryside sites based on environmental considerations and practicalities and their suitability for particular events and activities. Others in the team explored the market potential and reach for proposed events, considering local competition, population demographic and low-user group integration.
This project is part of our growing portfolio of strategic green infrastructure work and open space assessments.
