Ecology survey season gets off to a novel start
LUC’s ecologists have launched another busy survey season! Our UK-wide ecology team is currently implementing surveys on sites ranging from historic royal palaces to water treatment works, in locations from Kent to Caithness.
We love nothing more than a project that tests our creativity and allows us to find unique and innovative ways to help our clients. That’s why we’re really enjoying our project in Bedfordshire where our Ecologist, Amy Coleman, photographed above, is finding new ways to inform the ecological requirements of a very large-scale residential masterplan.
Faced with the challenge of surveying for water voles in steep, densely vegetated agricultural ditches, Amy is currently deploying a chain of floating rafts which will accumulate evidence of the species. While we’re pretty pleased with our approach, getting the survey kit to site was…interesting!
Contact us on ecology@landuse.co.uk to find out how we can get your project up and running.
