Ecology survey season picks up pace

The Great British summer is well underway, which means we’re in the thick of the annual ecology survey season (hurrah!). Across the UK, highly-caffeinated LUC ecologists are dangling from trees, hiding in bushes or lurking in grasslands in order to collect the best possible ecological data for our clients.

This year we’re delighted to be delivering ecological support to some of the UK’s most exciting  and ecologically-complex projects.  From university expansion projects in the South West, to nationally significant infrastructure in the Midlands and landscape-scale community restoration projects in the North Highlands, our team is applying a full spectrum of habitat and species survey skills and licences to enable sustainable development.

Not content with roaming the countryside bothering badgers, our team is increasingly turning its skills to strategic ecology projects and we’re delighted to be working closely with local housing associations in Sunderland to achieve one of the first organisational-level bat  disturbance licences, allowing our client to deliver important maintenance to their large housing stock in a timely, cost-effective and wildlife-friendly way.
