LUC supporting the Edinburgh BioQuarter Project
LUC is delighted to be supporting the Edinburgh BioQuarter project partners on the preparation of a £750m transformational vision for the city.
Leading the Landscape Masterplan Vision and Feasibility Strategy, LUC worked closely with Oberlanders Architects and the wider design team to test the opportunity for a new mixed use neighbourhood.
The BioQuarter project partners consist of Scottish Enterprise, University of Edinburgh, NHS Lothian and City of Edinburgh Council.
The proposals will create a new city quarter supporting a community of over 20,000 people within a Health Innovation District. Active travel and health and well-being are key to the vision, with proposals centred around a new central park, events square and travel hub.
This landscape core will create a vibrant and strongly defined sense of place – retaining elements such as mature existing trees whilst integrating new development and connecting to neighbouring communities.
