LUC landscape architects speak at European Healthcare Design 2018
LUC’s Director of Landscape Design, Richard Hannay, and Principal Landscape Architect, Alison King, spoke at this year’s European Healthcare Design conference at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
LUC’s presentation “Healing Environment” was given in the Wolfson Theatre in a session entitled “Greening Healthcare”. Richard and Alison spoke of how intelligent landscape design can provide multiple benefits to the health and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors as well as delivering complex functional, logistical and ecological solutions. Richard Hannay illustrated this potential through the case-study of LUC and Stantec’s award-winning South-West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, NI.
The 2-day conference was fascinating, with LUC engaging in many thought-provoking discussions on the future of healthcare provision in our aging urban populations with architects, healthcare providers and academics.
