Ferguslie Green Line: moving to construction
LUC is pleased to announce that the Ferguslie Green Line project has entered the construction phase, with LUC acting as Contract Administrator. This marks a major milestone in transforming vacant and underused spaces in Ferguslie Park into vibrant, accessible community assets.
Since 2021/22, LUC has collaborated with Renfrewshire Council to develop a feasibility study and a strategic vision for multifunctional greenspaces. Construction has officially commenced on a key site off Bankfoot Road, with completion expected later this year.

The Ferguslie Green Line brings together a range of character areas, each aimed at creating welcoming, green spaces that strengthen community connections. Key features include:
- Belltrees Area – The transformation of brownfield land into a recreational space featuring natural play areas, nature trails, and improved pedestrian and cycling routes to promote active travel. Biodiversity is supported through native planting, wildflower meadows, and sustainable drainage systems harnessing rainwater.
- Neighbourhood Centre – Creation of a multi-use play and activity space focused on community and inclusive play. The design includes biodiversity improvements, new tree planting, and upgraded path infrastructure to support access and active travel.
With a strong focus on community needs and sustainability, LUC’s design aims to deliver lasting social and environmental benefits, helping Ferguslie Park evolve into a greener, more connected neighbourhood.
