Appeal allowed for forestry barn
We are pleased that the Planning Inspectorate has allowed an appeal for the construction of a barn for forestry purposes at the Old Rectory in Doynton, designed by Oliver West and John Scott Architects.
LUC submitted a Prior Notification application to South Gloucestershire Council for the construction of a barn for forestry purposes. The application was refused on the grounds that the Council did not consider the scale and use of the barn was reasonably necessary for the purposes of carrying out forestry.
We advised the client that there were strong grounds for appeal, and prepared the Statement of Case for the appeal. The Planning Inspector agreed with LUC’s Statement of Case and allowed the appeal, concluding the he did “not regard the size of the proposed building to be excessive to accommodate the requirements of this forestry operation”.
If you’ve recently been refused planning permission and are considering appealing the decision, our team of planning experts is more than happy to help.
