Second consent for Forewind at Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm
The Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change approved Forewind’s second application for the Dogger Bank Teesside A&B development last week.
LUC prepared the landscape, seascape and visual impact assessments for the on- and offshore components, including landscape mitigation plans and visualisations. The work extended to support during the Examination process.
This is the second planning consent for Forewind at Dogger Bank, which now has a total proposed installed capacity of 2.4GW, making it the world’s biggest planned offshore wind scheme. Together, the Dogger Bank projects could supply electricity for over 2 million homes, second only in generating capacity to Drax.
Forewind General Manager, Tarald Gjerde said: “The consent is a credit to the outstanding efforts made by both the Forewind project team members and the many seasoned consultants and expert suppliers who contributed to the application.”
