Glen App windfarm receives planning permission
We are delighted that ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) was granted planning permission for the proposed Glen App Windfarm in South Ayrshire last week after the planning committee voted unanimously in favour of approval of the development.
LUC began work on the EIA for the scheme in 2010 and has had continued involvement in the project since the planning application was submitted in September 2012. Most recently we assisted in the preparation of Additional Information to address SNH concerns in relation to potential effects on breeding hen harrier.
SPR intend to start work on the construction of the 11-turbine scheme soon and LUC is continuing to provide support to SPR to assist with the discharge of some of the planning conditions. It is the first windfarm submitted under the Town and Country Planning Act to be consented by South Ayrshire Council.
