Bristol team volunteers at Golden Hill Community Garden
On Monday 28 July, a group from LUC’s Bristol office spent the morning volunteering at Golden Hill Community Garden.
The team got stuck in with path clearing and tidying across the garden, a community-run green space in Horfield.
Their efforts helped improve access and ensure the site remains welcoming to visitors of all ages and abilities.

Golden Hill Community Garden offers a space for people to grow food together, meet others, and enjoy nature.
It welcomes volunteers from across the community, including those with physical and mental health challenges or learning difficulties.

The garden has transformed since 2011 from overgrown, boggy land into a thriving, award-winning hub for social and environmental action.
Its raised beds, wooden structures, and accessible paths have been shaped by the efforts of local volunteers.

LUC’s volunteers added to this legacy, showing how small contributions can make a meaningful impact.
Their work supports the garden’s mission and demonstrates our commitment to supporting community-led environmental projects.

This activity took place as part of LUC’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) initiative.
Our CSER policy encourages all employees to take part in activities that benefit people, nature, or places beyond our everyday work.
