Granton Waterfront Development Framework nominated for Scottish Design Award
We’re delighted that the Granton Waterfront Development Framework has been nominated for a Scottish Design Award in the Master Planning/Landscaping category.
LUC has been working as part of the design team supporting Collective Architecture on the City of Edinburgh Council project.
The project sets out the vision for seven ‘Granton Principles’ and the ‘Design Guidelines’ to help guide the future development of a unique and sustainable coastal community. To achieve this the area’s existing green space will be extended and the former industrial land transformed to include a mixed-use urban neighbourhood of 3,000 new homes and a dynamic coastal park.
We took a collaborative approach in developing the framework involving the local communities, stakeholders, public sector and Scottish Government partners. This people focused approach has led to the creation of a Framework that truly reflects the needs of the local community.
