New playground in Greenwich Park opens
We are pleased that the new playground at Greenwich Park opened this week, and has been very well-received by visitors big and small.
LUC is the landscape architect behind the scheme for The Royal Parks, which has looked to completely renovate the existing play facility over a series of phases, commencing with renovations part funded by Olympic Development Agency in response to hosting the Equestrian 2012 Olympics.
This next section forms part of a third phase which replaces a number of outdated end-of-life play pieces, and aims to integrate the play space into the historic parkland context in a more sensitive manner with greater use of soft landscape, trees and shrubs to create a variety of playful natural spaces. Working alongside willow artist, Jim Buchanan, a number of highly attractive play structures have been created to add further high quality play value.
