Hagshaw Development Framework shortlisted for Scottish Green Energy Award
We're delighted to share that the Hagshaw Development Framework has been shortlisted for a Scottish Green Energy Award.
The framework will guide future renewable energy development in the Hagshaw Wind Energy Cluster in South Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire.
It is intended to ensure a positive transformation to a new renewable energy landscape, alongside bringing wider social and environmental benefits.
As well as helping tackle the climate emergency, this project brings together a whole host of opportunities for landscape and habitat restoration, as well as widescale recreational connectivity. The work promotes peatland enhancement, native woodland expansion, and ecological improvements across the landscape.
LUC worked collaboratively alongside NatureScot, South Lanarkshire Council, East Ayrshire Council, and Architecture & Design Scotland to establish the development framework.
The result was a Development Framework for the cluster, published earlier this year.
Congratulations to our Landscape Planning & Management team who put people, place, and nature at the heart of everything they do.
