LUC's Jo Wotton to speak at the Planning Conference 2025
LUC is pleased to announce that Jo Wotton, Associate Director in Environmental Planning, will speak on 27 May at the Planning Conference 2025, hosted by Scottish Renewables.
Held in Glasgow, the event brings together industry leaders, planners, and policymakers to explore how planning can deliver the UK’s Clean Power 2030 ambition, alongside the goals of National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4).
Jo will speak in the session NPF4 – How Policy is Playing Out on the Ground. This session will explore how the planning landscape is evolving two years after NPF4’s adoption, and how industry can respond to the challenges of delivering net-zero.

Jo will provide insights from her work on the EIA Task and Finish Group, part of the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal, focusing on how Environmental Impact Assessment reports are being streamlined—supporting more efficient applications while maintaining high environmental standards.
The session will also cover how industry is interpreting Policy 11c on maximising net socio-economic benefits, and how standardised conditions for Section 36 and 37 applications are being applied.
LUC is proud to contribute to this vital discussion, reinforcing our commitment to shaping a planning system that enables climate action and sustainable development.
