Joanna Wright to give climate change and net zero masterclass
Joanna Wright, Director of Environmental Planning at LUC, is presenting a masterclass next week on behalf of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Joanna will discuss planning in relation to climate change, and how to implement carbon net zero locally.
This is the first part of the training course, which will conclude with the second instalment next month. The class contributes towards CPD for RTPI members.
Learning objectives of the course include:
- Defining ‘carbon net zero’ and related concepts such as ‘carbon neutrality’ and ‘climate emergency’
- Reviewing related policies, including the translation of national targets into local level action
- Exploring the role of planning including policy formulation, site identification and development management
- Examining practical application of the net zero concept, with reference to a planning-related case study example
The masterclass will take place online on Wednesday 27 April.
LUC has a long track record working with climate change mitigation and adaptation.
This includes climate positive designs and natural capital assessments that assist in our response to the climate emergency.
