Joanna Wright joins launch of IEMA’s Second EIA Greenhouse Gas Guide
This afternoon Joanna Wright, Director of Environmental Planning at LUC, joined the launch of IEMA’s Second EIA Greenhouse Gas Guide.
The updated guidance assists EIA practitioners with greenhouse gas emissions assessment and mitigation, within statutory and non-statutory contexts.
Joanna was part of the working group that prepared the guidance, and accompanied leading EIA professionals in the online launch event.
The webinar opened with a high-level overview of greenhouse gases in impact assessment. It then examined key changes to IEMA’s guidance and methodological recommendations between the first and second editions.
IEMA published the first edition of its EIA guidance in 2017, following changes to EIA regulations. These changes included a greater emphasis on climate and greenhouse gas emissions. The second edition offers insights from the preceding five years, and takes the current state of good practice into account.
IEMA members can view the second edition here.
