Korean delegation gains insights into UK Green Belt planning with LUC
The Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS) visited LUC on 24 May 2024 to explore sustainable development strategies, focusing on Green Belt planning.
Joined by colleagues from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and LX, the public spatial data organisation, the delegation sought LUC’s perspective on Green Belt planning in the UK.

The delegation expressed their appreciation for the insightful visit, highlighting LUC's expertise in Green Belt assessment and sustainable spatial planning.
KRIHS's interest in the topic stems from the country’s own longstanding Green Belt policy called ‘Restricted Development Zones’ (RDZs) and its commitment to balancing long-term environmental protection with sustained economic growth.
We look forward to seeing what comes of the delegation's visit in the months to come, and hope it is the start of a meaningful exchange on addressing these complex global challenges.
