LUC to deliver Landscape Character Assessment for Bath and North East Somerset Council
LUC is working on an update to the 2003 ‘Rural Landscapes of Bath & North East Somerset – A Landscape Character Assessment’ report.
Our Landscape Planning experts will review the current Landscape Character Assessment (including the development of a new landscape typology) and prepare a new Landscape Strategy which will provide guidance for managing landscape change.
The project will include the preparation of Landscape Sensitivity Assessments for three ‘change scenarios’:
- Ground-mounted solar arrays of varying size
- Trees and woodland planting
- Wind energy – through an update of our 2010 wind energy assessment for the district
These studies will inform both plan-making and the development management process within Bath & North East Somerset and will help to inform the forthcoming Local Plan.
