LUC delivers Landscape Planning training webinar for Natural England
LUC hosted a training webinar this month on landscape planning for over 60 Natural England (NE) staff.
Our Director of Landscape Planning Kate Ahern, and Associate Landscape Planner Katrina Davies spoke alongside chair, Andrew Gale from Natural England. The webinar provided staff with an introduction to the legislative and policy framework for National Parks and AONBs in the context of land use planning. The session introduced the participants to the range of landscape information and evidence available to help assess the landscape impact of a proposed development.
The training will help to equip new NE casework staff with the knowledge and skills required to review planning applications in support of potential development and to provide advice (in the context of NE’s role and responsibility as a statutory consultee) to the required standard.
Feedback from staff indicated that the webinar was a success providing useful insights while still covering the basics of landscape planning.
