LUC is providing KYN with landscape architecture services for the development of a suite of innovative care homes in London and the south-east of England.

Bickley, Lauriston House

Our landscape proposals for Bickley integrate with existing trees and features, creating a character transition from the building to the wooded site edge. The entrance courtyard design improves accessibility and gives a sense of arrival.

Planting surrounding private terraces offers amenity to residents and shared terraces create social spaces. A circular path connects the sensory and woodland gardens. The existing boundary buffer will be kept and improved with trees and shrubs.

The landscape design retains existing habitats and creates new ones, incorporating several features designed to enhance biodiversity.

The scheme received planning permission and works have started on site.

Hurlingham, The Castle Club

A grade II listed building in Parsons Green will house The Hurlingham nursing facility. Our landscape vision will enhance the character of the building, providing future residents with safe access and closeness to nature through trees and planting areas.

The scheme is awaiting planning approval.

Hotel Felix, Cambridge

Our landscape proposals for Cambridge’s Hotel Felix respond to the site’s sensitive location within the local context and the Green Belt. The plans will reinforce local green infrastructure through the retention of existing green assets, supplementing these with further tree and herbaceous planting.

The proposals will celebrate the site’s heritage, emphasising key feature trees and improving the sense of place. Formal character herbaceous borders and allotment opportunities reflect the architectural style. These transition to lawn space merging into more informal woodland.

The design gives the site’s fringe a wilder character. Pocket spaces appear throughout, maximising greenery and framing existing trees.

The proposals have been submitted for planning.
