LUC canal regeneration project finalist for Living Waterways Awards 2018
LUC is delighted to be shortlisted for a Living Waterways Award this year for our Glasgow canal masterplanning project. The awards are organised by the Canal & River Trust.
The project outlines the significant potential of the Glasgow canal as a connector between disadvantaged communities, to invigorate underutilised greenspace and to encourage and promote activity, wellbeing and health. The project encompasses the establishment of a Vision, Development Framework and masterplan for the canal corridor between Applecross and Firhill Basins, supported by extensive community participation.

The project is a finalist in the Engaging The Community – Large Scale category and the winners will be revealed at a celebratory dinner in Birmingham on 20 September 2018.
