LUC at the 2025 Buccleuch Property Challenge

Earlier this month, LUC proudly took part in the Buccleuch Property Challenge 2025, held on 5 September at the beautiful Drumlanrig Castle, in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

The annual event is a six-hour, 50 km adventure race that pushes participants to their limits through a mix of mountain biking, trail running, orienteering and surprise challenges designed to test endurance, problem-solving and teamwork. This year’s Challenge brought together 88 teams from across the property and business community.

Representing LUC were Duncan McLean, Emily Whyman and John Hutchinson, who showed great teamwork and determination throughout the day. While not among the winners, the team thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the chance to take on such a demanding course together.

“There were smiles and giggles all day long and it was great to see some LUC clients and collaborators out in the wilds too.”

The Buccleuch Property Challenge also had a charitable purpose, raising an impressive £18,000 in support of the Ella Dawson Foundation. The charity helps young adults aged 18–30 living with cancer, offering wellbeing support at every stage of diagnosis and treatment.

LUC thanks the organisers for an excellent event and looks forward to the next Challenge.
